‘Double Dipping’ - What Is It?
To Grant Applicants to Pub Charity.
Regulations require that Pub Charity ensures distributed grants are spent on the ‘specific purpose applied for’. If an applicant has multiple current (live) applications for the same money and for the same purpose, this is casually referred to as ‘double dipping’.
As Pub Charity has no way in the circumstances to verify the outcome of the second or other simultaneous applications, it is Pub Charity policy to decline an application in those circumstances.
Most cases of double dipping are inadvertent and the applicant felt their approach was prudent. Being declined for double dipping can cause offense however the outcome does not in any way suggest intentional wrong doing or dishonesty on the part of the applicant, reflect on the reputation of those involved. or prevent them from applying to Pub Charity again.
Good luck with your applications.
